Dues Information
What Is Covered by DMHS Band & Orchestra Dues?
With Shoes and Dues Day around the corner, it’s a great time to highlight how your dues are utilized throughout the school year. Booster dues, combined with funds raised through Booster fundraising efforts, help cover program expenses not fully funded by Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) or student fees.
Booster dues help support the following key items:
Marching band show essentials, including music, music rights, drill design, clinicians, supplemental staff, and all props such as field sets, color guard uniforms, and flags.
Marching Band’s Ultimate Drill Book Application.
Leadership training for drum majors.
Marching band practice shirts, hats, drawstring bags, water jugs, gloves, drill master shoes, sweatshirts and show shirts.
Meals and snacks for the marching band on competition days.
Transport of equipment to and from festivals and performance competitions.
Music scores for concert band festivals and pep tunes performed at football games.
Sticks, mallets and drumheads for all percussion.
Cleaning, repairs, and replacement parts for uniforms and attire across all music ensembles.
Instructors and clinicians for all concert ensembles (concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands).
Additional repairs for instruments and equipment.
Awards banquets for all ensembles, featuring annual student recognitions with nationally recognized awards.
Senior recognition activities, including senior vinyl posters, senior portraits, and a senior dinner for marching band students.
Photography and videography covering competitions, concerts, and group activities.
2025-26 Marching Season Dues
Dues for the 2025-2026 Marching Band season will be $495, a small increase from last year’s $450. This adjustment helps cover additional costs for truck rentals, staff, and student swag (supplier increases), as well as the addition of a key new investment: UDBapp (Ultimate Drill Book).
UDBapp is a powerful mobile tool that replaces paper dot books, giving students instant access to their drill, music, and coordinates. It streamlines rehearsals, allows for real-time updates, and boosts overall performance quality.
